1968 Saab 96
I spotted this 1968 Saab 96 at the Cedarburg car show. It was the quirkiest car at the show. This one has the four-cycle 1500 cc V4 engine. It also has a “freewheeling” transmission that allows the transmission to run faster than the engine. This is advantageous in certain situations like descending hills or decelerating. It was especially important with the previous two-cycle engine. Here is a little-known fact: a Saab 96 was driven to a victory in the 1976 International Swedish Rally by Per Eklund and Björn Cederberg (and this is Cedarburg).
