Hi.

Welcome to my blog. These are cars I would put in my garage if I could. Hope you have a nice stay!

BMW 228i

BMW 228i

The owner of this 2 Series, Jerry, is another friend from work.

I admire these 2 Series (AKA F22) cars because they are such great compact sport sedans. That was the original mission the BMW 02 Series in the late sixties and early seventies.  The 3 Series cars succeeded the 02 Series (like the 2002 TII), but they have grown larger and heavier.

The 2 Series cars are smaller and lighter than the 3 Series. They have shorter wheel bases for better turn-in. They are a little lighter, which makes them feel quicker and more agile. They connect better to their drivers and are more fun to drive.

Jerry’s coupe is a 2016 228i. At a distance and in darker light it looks black. Up close and in the right light, you can see it is really a deep ‘root beer barrel’ brown with metal flake. Very cool.

It has the turbocharged 2.0 liter inline four engine. That provides plenty of power and torque to make a car this light a lot of fun. The power-train layout is front engine with rear drive. Very pure. The suspension is firm and agile.

I would definitely put a 2 Series like this in my garage if I had more money and space.
